Gauteng Department of Local Government and Housing
Masetlaoka Scott Wilson were appointed by the Department of Local Government and Housing, Gauteng Province in April 2011 to help them with the formalisation of Kameeldrift informal settlement, in the former Nokeng Tsa Taemane Municipality.
The project’s main objective is to carry out studies to assess if the area can be developed into a fully fledged township, and if conditions allow, to proceed to detailed stages where the various infrastructure components will be designed and constructed. 
Our involvement in the project will be as follows;
Prefeasibility Studies;
The purpose of this stage is to assess
- if the prevailing ground conditions will suit the proposed development. Geotechnical Studies will be conducted to identify the suitability of the soils, and if they will be able to bear the roads and housing foundations.
- if the proposed numbers of stands/plots to be allocated will be achieved by demarcating the available land.
- advise the project sponsor the basic costs of the bulk services to be provided.
Upon approval of the phase above, the following stages will be commenced: Environmental, Planning and Engineering Designs. All stages will be executed in adherence to the gazetted government legislature and professional regulations, codes and standards.
