GEOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION SYSTEMS (GIS) AND SPATIAL DATA ANALYSIS
GIS and aerial mapping enables our engineers and planners to more easily visualise and analyse otherwise complex digital data.
We maintain all the latest datasets from the Chief Surveyors Office of South African Survey & Cartographic offices. These include roads, rivers, populated places, dams, towns, LANDSAT land use, topographic information, client POI (points of interest), and geological layers.
MSW arranges 1:10000 aerial ortho-photography through its survey partners DeltaPlan at CSIR for use by our engineers - for example for road alignments, housing and population counts, and run-off catchment analysis.
MSW operates the latest GIS and data analysis systems through ARCVIEW 9.3, and the South African equivalent product PLANET 8.3.
